Rachael Baker

Conference Chair. (she/they),

Rachael is from Grass Valley, CA and is currently a senior studying Political Science with a minor in Criminology/Criminal Justice. She works as an Administrative Assistant for the Student Apartments and Family Housing here at SOU and has served as the Recognition Chair for NRHH for the last two years.


Kyrstyn Kelly

NBD Liaison. (she/her/hers),

Originally from Palmer, Alaska Krystyn is a senior in the Environmental Science and Policy program. She worked as a Resident Assistant for the past two years and now works as a Resident Manager. She also holds the title of the Siskiyou NRHH Chapter President.


Mimi Pieper

Finance Chair. (she/her/hers),

Mimi is a sophomore studying Computer Science and minoring in Rhetoric and Reason through SOU's Honors College. She currently serves as a student trustee on SOU's Governing Board, and is an Intern in the Computer Science department. When not being busy, she enjoys reading, watching a funny show, or playing with her cats.


Bree Erb

Educational Sessions Chair. (she/her/hers),

Bree is from the San Juan Islands in Washington. She's a first-generation junior at SOU and a business administration major with a double minor in psychology and hospitality and tourism. She is part of the SOU dance team and is also part of the Honors College. She works in admissions as a Raider Ambassador giving tours to prospective students.


Mason Healy-Patterson

Entertainment Co-Chair. (he/him/his),

Mason is a first year graduate student in the counseling program, and is one of the Entertainment co-chairs. He loves eels, bats, and other creatures of the night. Mason also loves furbys.


Lydia Staeck

Entertainment Co-Chair. (she/they),

Lydia is originally from Redding, CA and is currently a senior in the psychology department. She plans to attend graduate school to become a school psychologist. In addition to school, they work part-time as a barista and enjoys weight lifting in her free time. This is their first time being a part of a conference team, and she's excited to learn more and experience new things!


Jay Santos

Spirit & Mass Gatherings Co-Chair. (he/him/his),

Jay a senior at SOU and is originally from Livermore, CA. He's studying psychology and criminal justice. Currently he works as an event coordinator for University Housing. His goal is to go to graduate school to study clinical psychology.


Ryana Terao

Spirit & Mass Gatherings Co-Chair. (she/her/hers),

Aloha mai! Ryana is from Kauai, Hawai'i and is currently a junior at SOU getting her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Minor in Ethnic and Racial Studies. She cannot wait to see all of your spirit submissions!


Hayden Jennings

Registration Chair. (he/they),

Hayden was born in SOU's home town Ashland, OR, but raised in WOU's home town Monmouth, OR. He's currently a junior pursuing a communications major and minor in business administration. Hayden has been with SOU's housing department since 2019 as a member of area council, an RA, and was recently appointed as the RHA chapter's NCC.


Izzy Hodgin

Accessibility Chair. (any pronouns),

From Reno, Nevada, Izzy is a senior studying Criminology/Criminal Justice and Pre-Medicine with a minor in Psychology. She is the Administrative Assistant for Conferences at both SOU Housing and Disability Resources.


caleb Hefner

Social Media & Marketing Chair. (they/them/theirs),

Caleb is originally from Brentwood, CA and is a senior studying Digital Cinema (or film if you're any other school). They have served as our institutions NCC as well as our regions Coordinating Officer for Communications and Technology. Fun fact about Caleb is when they were a freshman they submitted an audition to be the new host of Blue's Clues. Also they live directly across from Rachael so they will personally deliver any messages you'd like her to hear.


William Hutson

Website & Technology Chair.,

Thanks to his 2 years of experience as SOU IT's Website Devlelopment Intern, William took on the role of revamping the website for this years conference. He recently celebrated earning his B.S in Emerging Media and Digital Arts (EMDA) and a Certificate in Sound Design after fall term 2021. He is very passionate about music and his hobbies include working on his car, lifting, and brushing up on skills in web-development.


Beck Weiser

Beck grew up right outside of Portland, OR and now resides in Ashland. At SOU they study Creative Writing. They served on Area Council for multiple of our Residence Halls and now work as an Administrative Assistant for the Housing Office.

Conference Advisors


Allyson Beck

Conference Advisor. (she/her/hers),

Allyson Beck works as the Assistant Director for Leadership, Retention, and Marketing for University Housing at SOU. This is her 4th conference hosting with SOU, and her 5th overall conference hosted. She loves working with the students at SOU, so much that she's been here for 12 years. When she's not at work, she can usually be found reading, planting succulents, or the students favorite baking some awesome cookies!


Eric Crook

Accessibility Advisor. (he/him/his)

Eric is "from all over" but claims Maine and California as home. He is the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services coordinator at SOU and is an ASL interpreter. For the conference he is the Accessibilities Advisor, and will be one of the ASL Interpreters.


Erica Knotts

Educational Sessions Advisor. M.A., MLIS, is an Instructor in the Department of Communication at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon. (she/her/hers)

Erica has co-authored many book chapters and papers on higher education issues. Recent work includes a chapter titled: "Defining the Line: Freedom of Speech and Online Dispute Resolution Best Practices for Higher Education" in Contemporary Trends in Conflict and Communication. and a chapter in Mental Health Among Higher Education Faculty, Administrators, and Graduate Students: A Critical Perspective (2020). Knotts' academic areas of interest include health and crisis communication, conflict management, negotiation, mediation, and small group communication. Knotts is also the co-creator and co-facilitator of SOU's first-ever Ombuds program for students. She received the SOU Raider Academy Award for Outstanding Faculty in 2019 and the SOU Distinguished Teaching Award in 2020. Knotts holds an Interdisciplinary M.A. in Crisis, Risk and Health Communication from Southern Oregon University and a Master of Library & Information Science concentrating in Leadership & Administration from Emporia State University.


Danielle Mancuso

Entertainment Advisor. (they/she)

Danielle is the Director of Student Activities at SOU and has worked in higher education since 2004. Danielle is a people-centered, equity-oriented, community architect, with a passion for making a positive difference.

janelle wilson

Safety & Security Advisor. (they/she)

janelle has served in various roles at Southern Oregon University since 2005 and they am currently the Associate Dean of Students and Director of Engagement and Support Programs. They are also a member of the SOU Board of Trustees. Some of the things they love are the ocean, movies, hiking, and advocating for equity!
